Agri-Culture

Grizedale Arts works principally in the county of Cumbria in the North of England addressing the cultural, ecological and economic landscape through an ongoing programme of projects. They work with communities locally, nationally and internationally to develop rural culture and influence mainstream culture from a rural perspective.

Kultivator is an experimental cooperation of organic farming 
and visual art practice situated in rural village Dyestad, on the island Öland on the southeast coast of Sweden. 
By installing certain functions in abandoned farm facilities, near to the active agriculture community, Kultivator provide a meeting and working space that points out the parallels between provision production and art practice, between concrete and abstract processes for survival.

Littoral's work is informed by arts, social, cultural, community and environmental research, and employs conferences, exhibitions, projects, publications and research papers to propose creative solutions to real-life problems. LITTORAL prefers to work on projects which fall outside the remit of the art world, and which are structured through longer term research partnerships and dialogue with community groups, trade unions, schools, culturally diverse organisations, and farming and rural communities.

INLAND- CAMPO ADENTRO is a project that examines the role of territories, geopolitics, culture and identity in the relationship between the city and the countryside in Spain today. The project provides artists, farmers, intellectuals, rural development agents, policymakers, curators and art critics, amongst others from the rural and urban spheres, with an open platform for presenting their research and practice. The content is gathered here before it is conveyed to the rest of society.

COLLECTION OF MINDS is a fluid platform for collaborative activity, initiated by visual artist Fiona Woods. Each project draws together a network of people from different disciplines to produce works or projects that question the prevailing horizon of political, social and economic possibility. Artistic modes of presentation and representation are used to present alternatives (real and/or imagined) into the public domain, employing alternative circuits of production and distribution and/or the institutional site of art as appropriate.
